Poorman's Beef Wellington

Ingredients

  • 45ml Butter
  • 150g sliced button mushrooms
  • 10ml FLIPPEN LEKKA SPICE
  • 250ml fresh breadcrumbs
  • 4 cooked meatballs
  • 1 roll puff pastry
  • 1 egg (beaten)

Method

  1. Preheat oven to 200 deg C
  2. In a pan, fry the mushrooms in the butter and add the spices and breadcrumbs
  3. roll out the puff pastry and cut into 4 squares
  4. place two tablespoons of the mushroom mixture onto each square
  5. place a meatball on each one and top with the remaining mushrooms
  6. gently fold each one into "packets", place on a baking tray and brush them with the egg
  7. bake for 15 minutes until golden brown
